The Concept Card is a template for taking a set of scattered ideas and expanding them into a holistic concept, which entails selected ideas, a target persona for whom the solution is aimed, a clearly defined value proposition for the target Persona, and a storyboard to illustrate how the concepts work in practice.
A Concept Card helps translate ideas into concepts that can be taken forward to prototyping. In addition, it can help make your ideas around a service (re)design more concrete and tangible.
You can use the Concept Card from idea generation to concept creation. The Concept Card benefits if you have generated a sufficient number of diverse ideas during your brainstorming session.
Go back to the Personas that you have identified and review their needs. Then, write down the Persona and the need to be addressed on the Concept Card.
Select the top ideas you have developed which fit the Persona’s needs and combine them into one concept.
Visualise your solution - sketch the concept of your service.
Articulate the value proposition of your solution. Which pain points are solved, and which benefits does the Persona gain from your service?
Optionally, you can think about the business model of your service and fill it in the concept card as well.
